Overview
Eye Clinic London is centre of excellence in diagnosing and managing complex eye disease in particular: cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery in adults and children. We apply the latest advances in diagnosis and therapies to maximise safety and efficacy in managing various eye conditions. We treat patients from all across the country, additionally patients travel from other countries to have their eyes treated at the eye clinic london. We lead the way on various line of treatment:- Managing keratoconus by using the latest methods in corneal cross linking CXL, corneal rings implants, partial thickness (lamellar keratoplasty) and if indicated femtosecond lasers are used for maximal precision. - Corneal scarring, or dystrophies by doing superficial anterior lamellar keratoplasties using lasers to cut the cornea (SALK). If the disease lies deep in the cornea then deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) is the favourite option.- Fuch's endothelial corneal dystrophy and corneal endothelium damage after cataract surgery or trauma by performing endothelial keratoplasty ( replacing the diseased lining of the cornea with new lining which is called DMEK or DSEK- Dry eye management: many times traditional eye treatment fails to control dry eye symptoms and we have many successful stories of patients restored eye comfort after suffering for so many years- Cataract surgery: we treat every patient individually by performing customised treatment to give best visual functions. Cataract surgery for us is a refractive surgery and we use topic and multifocal intraocular lenses if appropriate. Sometimes, small refractive surgery on the cornea maximise the results of cataract surgery so patients are less dependent on glasses- Refractive surgery: We use the latest and most advanced lasers to perform corneal laser refractive surgery to correct myopia (shortsightedness), hyperopia (longsightedness), and astigmatism (oval shape of the cornea). If cornea is not suitable then lens refractive surgery is advised whether putting additional lens impact in the eye or replacing the natural lens with new refractive lens (refractive lens exchange). In older patients we prefer non-corneal refractive surgery- Children's eye disease: Mr Hamada is top specialist in managing cornea, cataract, and congenital eye diseases in children and one of very few dual trained ophthalmologist in cornea and paediatric ophthalmology from prestigious eye institutions. We combine the best evidence based knowledge and the latest technology with our advanced skills and expertise to deliver the safest and most effective outcomes. No wonder that our patients recommend their friends and colleagues to have their eyes treated at the Eye Clinic London. We treat in central London, and Sussex at The McIndoe Centre and Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead.

Very happy with the service. I knew there was something wrong with my eyes and for months the NHS doctors at Western Eye Hospital telling me everything is fine even though I am in pain everyday. Dr. Samer Hamada found what was wrong. The diagnosis he gave me fit so well with ALL my issues and feel very hopeful now that my issues will improve with the treatment and additional tests he has recommend. He was very confident in his diagnosis and he knew exactly what was going off which was extremely reassuring. Highly recommend him, I will be returning for any future problems that arise. The receptionist Victoria is also really lovely and from the moment I spoke with her on the phone to book I felt reassured I was going to be in good hands due to her professionalism and friendly demeanour.
Fantastic service. The staff are amazing especially Lila and Ali and the technicians etc.. The help at the front desk just makes you feel confident of the surgery you are about to undergo. I am so so grateful to Mr. Hamada. The best eye surgeon ever. Very grateful indeed.
“After visiting many specialists for my child’s cornea problem with no clear diagnosis, we found Dr. Hamada in East Grinstead. It was a relief to finally meet a doctor who could identify the issue accurately. Dr. Hamada’s expertise was evident from our first visit. He showed immense compassion and empathy, not just towards us as worried parents but also in his gentle approach with our child. What truly set Dr. Hamada apart was how great he was with children. My child felt at ease in his care, which is something we hadn’t experienced with other specialists. Dr. Hamada took the time to explain the situation in a way that was understandable and reassuring, providing us with a clear management plan. We’ve been under his care for some time now, and the improvement in my child’s condition has been remarkable. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Hamada’s guidance and support. His blend of professionalism, kindness, and genuine care for his patients is rare. We wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Hamada to anyone seeking a specialist, especially for children with eye issues. He’s been a blessing to our family, and we trust him completely with our child’s eye care.”
I suffer with dry eyes and it was such a relief to find Mr Hamada who is extremely knowledgeable and able to explain the problem clearly and give me a positive action plan. The clinic is efficient, friendly and comfortable. The price is very reasonable bearing in mind the quality of care and length of time Mr Hamada spent with me. I wish I had made an appointment sooner!
I first contacted Joanna at The Eye Clinic in summer 2023 as I had heard good things about Mr Hamada. A blocked gland in my left eye had remained so for a few months despite going to local eye docs. I knew I needed something more. I saw Mr Hamada and Joanna and felt immediately in good hands. I began a course of IPL and gland expression plus some steroid drops and antibiotic drops. Some months later, after treatment completed I was given one more complimentary treatment to get to where I needed to be. Now the gland is unblocked and despite some slight remaining redness inside the inner eyelid, everything looks and feels normal and I can wear make up. I have a follow up appt in a few months. Highly recommended. Joanna is excellent as a first point of call and talks you through things and you can speak to her with any worries. She also does the IPL herself.
